New York based Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang recently celebrated his 30th Birthday with a show at O2 World in Berlin, Germany, at the invitation of Telefónica Germany, complete with a lighting design by Nepomuk Lippl and Ben Miller from extes GmbH of Munich featuring Robe moving lights.

The concert was broadcast live and web streamed by TV channel ARTE as well as enjoyed by a live audience of 5,000.

The Robe fixtures included ROBIN MMX Spots, ROBIN 1200 LEDWashes and , ColorSpot and ColorWash 1200E ATs, all positioned on 400 metres of trussing flown in the venue’s roof.

The fixtures were chosen by the LDs to maintain the high production values expected of the show.

The MMX’s were rigged on a circular truss right above Lang Lang’s piano and used for razor sharp pin-pointing of the artist as his set unfolded.

The show featured appearances by some very special guests including the Schlesweg-Holstein Festival Orchestra conducted by Jahja Ling, and US star Herbie Hangcock.

The lights were operated by Jűrgen Lehmann and Jonny Huber, and the Robes were supplied by Limelight Veranstaltungstechnik GmbH from Gilching near Munich, with the MMXs coming from Dortmund based Niclen..

hr setzt beim Music Discovery Project 2025 auf Scheinwerfer von Robe

Seit 18 Jahren ist die Begegnung verschiedener musikalischer Welten das Markenzeichen des Music Discovery Projects, das einmal jährlich die myticket Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt füllt. Special Guest der Ausgabe 2025 am 21. und 22. März mit dem Titel "AusZeit" war die Electropop-Band ClockClock. Für das passende, energetische Lichtdesign setzte Markus Heck vor allem auf Robe: Insgesamt kamen 60 x Tetra 2, 17 x MegaPointe, 27 x Pointe, 6 x Spiider und 6 x Viva zum Einsatz.

LD Systems Ramps Up the Robe for Rodeo Houston

Lighting designer Nathan Brittain from Houston, Texas-based lighting rental specialist LD Systems oversaw a major lighting upgrade for the live concert element of this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo – AKA Rodeo Houston – which included adding over 150 Robe moving lights to the rig.
