Fifty-seven Robe BMFL Spots were specified by a lighting design team comprising Timo Martens, Philip Hillers and Nik Evers … for a recent European tour by German singer-songwriter Andreas Bourani.
The tour initially started last year, but the 2016 set of arena sized dates were added due to incredible public demand to see the popular artist – also a Voice of Germany judge – live.
It was also the first arena tour for Bourani, so the focus was on him and his backing band, all of whom needed to be well lit throughout without being distracting. The eye-catching triangular stage design was also central to the presentation, its off-beat shape put the performers right in the middle of the audience.
Twenty-four of the BMFLs were positioned around the stage, while the rest were in the overhead rig, with one used as a follow spot so it perfectly matched the rest of the rig.
Pre-programming for the tour took place at PREFOCUS GmbH in Berlin, a facility run by Tilman Schumacher and Tobias Heydt Hausen – and lighting was directed on the road by André Breß and Boris Kayser, with equipment supplied by Black Box Music from Berlin.
