The Monumental Tour is a brilliant and innovative visual and musical concept initiated by DJ and music producer Michael Canitrot and visual activists AV-Extended in conjunction with French cooperative bank Credit Mutuel … which encompasses unique streamed electronic music performances and collaborations with epic, iconic and outstanding monumental sites all around France.
It has been a tough year for the entire industry and none more so than those studying the performing arts, with colleges having to radically re-think not just the teaching process and online learning, but also the realisation of practical coursework modules.
The inaugural Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE) event – a European Union initiative to reform its policies and institutions – took place in May at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, at the very heart of EU politics and legislation! The elegant hemicycle debating chamber sits inside the striking Louise Weiss Building designed by Parisian-based Architecture-Studio and opened in 1999. It includes a 60-metre-high tower which is left looking deliberately unfinished and was inspired by Roman amphitheatres and the mythical Tower of Babel.
Xite Labs – founded in 2018 by visual and production design specialists Greg Russell and Vello Virkhaus – was approached by director Mike Carson and The 92 Group to assist in the production of stunning XR environments for Talented trapsoul singer, rapper, and songwriter Bryson Tiller who recently recorded an XR concert – for later broadcast – in Calabasas, California at Xite Labs’ XR stage facility.
Lighting designer to the stars Tom Kenny utilized nearly 400 Robe moving lights on a spectacular lighting rig for the debut of Triller Fight Club, an exciting new PPV entertainment and sporting concept partnership between US video sharing and social network, Triller, and iconic rapper Snoop Dogg.
Artists continue to be creative and inventive in presenting themselves during these pandemic times, and legendary musician, singer and songwriter Todd Rundgren’s ground-breaking new virtual ‘tour’ concept took imagination, technology and lateral thinking to another level to bring fans the most exhilarating experience possible!
Dan Ridd, Steven Haynes and a team from Clearsound Productions in Shipston on Stour, UK, marked the culmination of a week of #LightItInRed ‘heart’ actions around the country with a spectacular livestream broadcast featuring mixmaster DJ Benji surrounded by a cool heart-shaped lighting rig designed by Steven and featuring Robe moving lights!
